I shot my first roll of film today.

well, the first roll since I was about 12 or so….( and disposables don’t count simply because I don’t develop the film myself so there you go:))

I think I might be in love with it.

* sidenote: I think I’m going to die now. My throat still hurts ( upside: I bought some wonderful organic throat drops so hopefully they’ll help out) and my body is rebelling against all the walking I did while taking photos, so, sleep, and tea, and throat drops and movies and warm beds will be calling my name all afternoon.

sore throat.

body aches.

icky feelings….

yay for being sick on a sunday when I have a photo assignment to shoot!

* currently watching being erica, drinking a gallon of cough/throat syrup stuff, and lying in bed. I will get up in half an hour and go take photos….. and then I will die, because my body hates me. alright? alright.

Are You Here Corinne Bailey Rae

headlocked:

Song Of The Day: Are You Here - Corinne Bailey Rae.

This song has one of those choruses that just take your breath away. I’m in love with this album.

“It’s the Longing that ultimately undoes you. When it finds you, it gnaws at your bones and tugs at your chest. It fills you up inside like rot and makes you dream dreams and it drowns you. The Longing keeps you in bed, clutching at your sheets while the world goes on outside. It smells like old leaves and cigarette smoke, mixed with the scent of far-off places you will hear of, but never see. It’s the gloss on a lover’s lips the moment you realize you will never kiss those lips again. It is the bittersweet, unrequited love of creation and it will break your heart again and again and again. If you know the Longing the way I do, then these words are redundant. We understand each other perfectly, you and I.” —Matthew Sturges

“Our life is made up of time; our days are measured in hours, our pay measured by those hours, our knowledge is measured by years. We grab a few quick minutes in our busy day to have a coffee break. We rush back to our desks, we watch the clock, we live by appointments. And yet your time eventually runs out and you wonder in your heart of hearts if those seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years and decades were being spent the best way they possibly could. In other words, if you could change anything, would you?” —cecilia ahern

look in the mirror today.

I live in a magical world where I like to highlight and gold star all the good stuff and skim over the bad stuff when it comes to human interaction. I see only the good in people, and I can play along with stupid excuses all night long. This is a very bad habit because I tend to romanticize everything and everyone. I never see people for who they are. I see them instead for who I want them to be to me. The stupid thing is that, people will show you who they are, their intentions and what kind of importance they place on you. My head is just usually too far in the clouds to see it.

“Let us begin this letter, this prelude to an encounter, formally, as a declaration, in the old-fashioned way: I love you. You do not know me (although you have seen me, smiled at me). I know you (although not so well as I would like. I want to be there when your eyes flutter open in the morning, and you see me, and you smile. Surely this would be paradise enough?). So I do declare myself to you now, with pen set to paper. I declare it again: I love you.” —

Neil Gaiman

now that is the way to begin a love letter.

ugh.

something is wrong with my camera lens:(

thats what I get I guess for buying something off of ebay, lesson learned.

at least it still works though, I just can’t shoot on auto focus, only manual….. which is good I suppose, It will make me work for my photos, as opposed to just relying on the camera and lens to do the work for me….. so hopefully they all turn out.

another photo expedition tomorrow afternoon when I get off of work. hooray!

“It isn’t really important to decide when you are very young just exactly what you want to become when you grow up. It is much more important to decide on the way you want to live. If you are going to be honest with yourself and honest with your friends, if you are going to get involved in causes which are good for others, not only for yourselves, then it seems to me that that is sufficient, and maybe what you will be is only a matter of chance.” —Golda Meir (via quote-book)
